Joyce Stafford Ross

Joyce Stafford Ross, 70, of Weldon, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late James Ely and Annie Lee Taylor Stafford.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Ross of Weldon; her daughters, Beverly Ray and her husband, Jay of El Dorado, CA, Traci Isles and her husband, Mark of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Tim Moore of Nashville; her step daughter, Kecia Kane and her husband, Dennis of Potomac, MD; 9 grandchildren, Zachary Isles and Tina Bullock, Lucas Isles, Tristan Moore, Ashton Moore, Brayden Moore, Annie Ray, Owen Kane, Matthew Kane, and Carter Kane.

Joyce enjoyed auctions, remodeling homes, going out with her girlfriends for Monday night dinner, cooking for her family on Sundays, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She and Ed attended Rosemary United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Ken Arrington and Rev. Robert Whitby officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 at Askew Funeral Services.

Daisy Matthews Conner

Daisy Matthews Conner, 97, died Friday, July 17, 2015, in Breckenridge Retirement Center in Rocky Mount.

Mrs. Conner was born January 27, 1918, in Crichton, VA, to the late Willie and Annie Jones Matthews.

She was a member of South Rosemary Methodist Church.

After many years of service, she retired from the Halifax County Schools Nutrition Program in 1984.

She enjoyed baking breads and desserts for students at Aurelian Springs and Northwest High School.

Her great joy was preparing food for others who weren’t able to prepare meals for themselves.

When she was no longer able to live alone, she became a resident of the Bayberry Inn in Roanoke Rapids.

She spent the last two years at Breckenridge Retirement Center in Rocky Mount.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Huff Conner; nine brothers and sisters and two sons, James Willie Conner and Richard Wayne Conner.

Surviving are daughter, Diane Conner Dickens and husband, Sammy, of Littleton, and son, Huff Wilson Conner and wife, Ruby, of Kinston; sister, Barbara Ann Matthews of LaCrosse, VA; eight grandchildren, Michelle Conner Sutton and husband, Brent and Lynn Conner Vinson and husband, Rod, all of Kinston, Dawn Conner White and husband, Chris of Winston-Salem, Michael Conner and wife, Megan of Red Oak, Matthew Dickens and wife, Jewel, of Youngsville, Jessica Dickens Hamill and husband, Brent, and Sam Conner and wife, Angie, all of Littleton, Wendy Conner Jenkins and husband, Gary of Roanoke Rapids.

Also surviving are sixteen great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Rev. Sue Owens will conduct a graveside service Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service beginning at 1:30 pm and all other times at the home of her daughter, Diane Conner Dickens, 8733 Hwy 48, Littleton, NC.

Charles Kondru, age 91, of Roanoke Rapids, entered into Glory on Sunday, July 19, 2015.

He was from India, the son of the late Samual and Hemavathi Karra Kondru.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Screemathi Bai Kondru.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Dr. S. Balla and Mrs. Mrunalini Balla of Roanoke Rapids; his sons, Dr. Ashok Kondru and his wife, Dr. Nafisa Kondru of Ashbutula, OH, Kevin Kondru and his wife, Rishi Kondru of Irvine, CA; his 6 grandchildren, Aparesh Balla, Rima Balla Kolleh, Dr. Anokh Kondru and his wife, Jamie, Neema Kondru, Clenent Kondru, Christa Kondru; and his 7 great grandchildren, Joshua, Josiah, Joanna, Julia, Avani, Alana, and Amara.

Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Michael Cloer officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

George Raymond Spence

George Raymond Spence age 87,  passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. 

George was born October 17, 1927 in Wilson County North Carolina the son of the late J.W. “Dick” Spence and Maggie Jane Robbins Spence.

He was also preceded in death by his Son, Gene Allan Spence, his siblings Hansel Spence, Virgie Pulley, Calvin Spence, Nellie Spence and Edward Spence.

George was a great handyman and a jack of all trades, he really liked to help people in anyway he could, believed in hard work and was an avid golfer. He was also given honorary lifetime membership in the Emporia Country Club. He loved his family, friends and church family. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Myrtle Bryant Spence of Gaston, NC; His daughter Janet Spence Powell (Ray) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; His son Steve “Bitty” Richard Spence of Gaston, NC; three sisters, Maude Elizabeth Spence and Mollie Spence Roberts, both of Emporia, VA and Daisy Ruth Spence Lambert of Mechanicsville, VA.  Four grandchildren, Paula Spence Copeland, Tony Ray Powell (Joy), Kevin Lee Powell and his fiancé Stacy and Gary Eugene Powell (Alison).  Six great grandchildren, Cameron Ray Powell, Christopher Russell Powell, Mollie Elizabeth Powell, Daniel Chase Copeland, Tyler Blake Copeland, George Lane Powell and Lilly Lorraine Powell.  Two special aunts, Annie Marie Smith and Madie Higgins, both of Gaston, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Annie Marie Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home, Friday, July 10, 2015 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and other times at the home.

Flowers are welcomed, however memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ, 116 Emry Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.

Clara Ruth Mashburn Birdsong age 84, passed away July 10, 2015 at Signature Health Care in Roanoke Rapids.

Clara was born April 5, 1931 in Swain County North Carolina the daughter of the late William McKinley Mashburn and Bobbie Baker Mashburn. 

Left to cherish her memory are her brother-in-law Russell Birdsong and wife Danya of Halifax, NC; Her sister-in-law Margaret Riddle and her husband Dixon of Weldon, NC and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 in the chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids at 2:00PM with Pastor Stan Lewis officiating. Burial will be held private in Halifax Methodist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.

Margaret Virginia Adams Shearin

Margaret Virginia (Adams) Shearin, age 88, of Roanoke Rapids, died July 10, 2015 at Signature Health Care in Roanoke Rapids  following a short illness.  

Born on March 14, 1927 to the late James Rufus Adams and Minerva Finch (Adams) Hux and she was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Rufus Anthony Shearin of Warren County, NC, her sister, Helen Adams Poindexter of Roanoke Rapids and her brother William (Bill) Garfield Adams of Williamston.

In the early 40’s she and Rufus left the city and traveled westward to Southern California’s Mojave Desert and then later to Susanville, CA where she learned the art of farming and ranching polled Hereford cows.  After Rufus passed away in 1984, she returned to Roanoke Rapids to be closer to relatives.

She loved the pursuit of knowledge through reading newspapers, magazines and books, and found some of her best friends in them.  Margaret was known for her dry sense of humor and quick wit.  Margaret’s many years in California with its various climates and awe inspiring vistas impressed upon her the value of the earth and the variety of fruit it yields.   She was a treasure trove of knowledge about nature and animal behavior. In her later years, her beloved cats were her constant companions.  

She is survived by a son Anthony A. Shearin of Albany, CA and two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Dr. Ed Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.    

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Signature Healthcare and Rehab of Roanoke Rapids for their expertise, compassion and kindness during her final days.

H.N. 'Foxy' Stephenson

H.N. “Foxy” Stephenson, 88, of Weldon, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015.  

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Parker Stephenson, his second wife, Maiborne Sadler Stephenson, and a dear friend, Joyce Manning.

Foxy came to Weldon in 1964 to pursue his dream of owning a Ford dealership.  In 1966 he developed the Ponderosa Campground in Weldon.  He loved life, horses, dancing and making people laugh.  He loved to look his nicest and was always dressed to the “Tee”.  Foxy dearly loved his family but his greatest love was his granddaughters, Lauren and Mer.  

He is survived by his son, Greg Stephenson of Weldon and his daughter in law, Sandra Stephenson; his daughter, Marilyn Dudley of Rich Square; his granddaughters, Lauren and Meredith Stephenson; and his sister in law, Thelma Stephenson.  

Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Callie “Kelly” Campbell Mattie Mabrey age 92 passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Magnolia Gardens Nursing Home in Roanoke Rapids.

Kelly was born July 19, 1923 in Halifax County North Carolina, the daughter of the late Duffy Campbell and Annie Ivey.

 

She was also preceded in death by her first husband Henry Mike Mattie and her second husband Claude Mabrey; her step-mother Ruby Shaw Campbell; her grandson John Michael Mahan; Her sister Margaret C. Birdsong; Her half sister Evelyn Ray Campbell Miller; Her four brothers Al, Leroy, Roy Lee and a twin brother Carol Campbell; Her three half brothers George, Charles and James Campbell.

She was a long time resident of South Rosemary Community in Roanoke Rapids.

Momma was a wonderful caring mother and grandmother to her family as well as the many other children she cared for and loved.

Mrs. Mabrey loved sewing and visiting others in her younger days. She really loved more than anything the Lord.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of her life are three daughters; Annie Virginia Oliver and husband Leslie Ray, Janie M. Worrock and Barbara “Bobbie” Johnson and friend Freddy Powell all of Roanoke Rapids; Her seven grandchildren Tammy Norris and fiancé Jeff Lassiter, Cindy Matthews and husband Scott all of Roanoke Rapids, Kimberly Thorne of Nashville, NC, Susan Baran and husband Jason of Wilson, NC, Melissa K. Worrock and friend Clifton Handley of Roanoke Rapids, Paul Johnson and wife Stacey of Victoria, TX and Tiffany Gail Francis and husband Michael of Roanoke Rapids; Her eighteen great-grandchildren Crystal Heustess, Brook Barber, Jessica Lewis, Dusty Sauls, Hunter Keeter, Joseph and Joshua Matthews, Marshall Keeter, Bethany Johnson, Taylor Lassiter, Jonathan Baran, Christopher Johnson, Marcus Moore, Stephen Thorne, Caitlyn Baran, Zachary Oliver, Emily Baran and Sophia Lassiter; Her four great great-grandchildren Christopher, Samuel and Gabriella Heustess, Justin Barber, Jr. Family friend Danny Sykes.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her caregivers of many years Evelyn Williams, Joyce Harrison, Diana Harris and Ellen Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Pastor Michael Little officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Phyllis Estelle Cain

Phyllis Estelle Cain, 77, born in Bermuda and became a US citizen later in life, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, in UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Phyllis believed in giving to those in need and had a charitable heart.

She touched many lives and will forever be remembered, treasured and loved.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David C. Cain, Sr.; six children, Judy Willis, Kathy Holland and husband, Larry, David C. Cain, Jr. and finance, Linda Briley, Sandy Catanese and husband, Tony, Michael Cain and wife, Lisa and Anthony Cain and his fiancé Rebecca Smith; three sisters, Joan Munro, Ann Taylor, and Diane Berning. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will have a memorial service to celebrate Phyllis’ life at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm.

Floyd Wayne Etheridge, age 65, of Halifax, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015.

He was the son of the late William Clarence and Betty Adkins Etheridge.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Nowell Etheridge; his sisters, Lois Wells, Evelyn Alston, Betty Jean Fountain; and his brother, J.D. Etheridge.

He is survived by his sons, Timothy “Tim” Etheridge and his wife, Peggy of Pleasant Hill, Bradford “Brad” Etheridge and his wife, Paula of Halifax; his grandchildren, Dakota, Kimberly, Madison, and Tyler Etheridge; his mother in law, Velmarie “Sister” Green Nowell of Halifax; his sisters, Velma Pope of Rocky Mount, Nancy Stallings and her husband, Bunny of Rocky Mount; his brother, Bud Etheridge of Whitakers; his brother in law, Ernest Nowell, Sr. and his wife, Lou of Taylors, SC; many nieces and nephews; a special great niece, LaDonna Wells of Gaston; and a special friend, Carolyn Crew of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC.

James Gordon Dursma

USAF SMSgt. (Ret.) James Gordon Dursma, age 77 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday July 25, 2015 in the Hospice of Dayton.  

He was born November 14, 1937 in Andover, South Dakota, the son of the late Eugene and Cleone (Pew) Dursma.

 

James served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant; and followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring after over 45 years of combined federal service.  

He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 526, VFW Post 6861, and Moose Lodge 1068, all of Fairborn; and his hobbies included bowling, darts, woodworking, puzzles, and reading.

He is survived by three children, Cathy (Stacey) Kinnin, James, Jr. (Amy Neuberger) Dursma, Jacqueline Garner; four grandchildren, Corey (Danyelle) Kinnin, Kelly (Alyssa) Kinnin, Derek Dursma, Steven Dursma; a great-grandson, Drew Kinnin; seven siblings, Ralph, Gerald, Sharon (Paul), Marla, Robert, Gloria, Linda; former wives, Phyllis Sievers, Betty Jean Dursma; special friends, Jeanie Beatty, Teresa (Geoffrey) Johnson and son, Jaxon Stacy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  

Burial will be held in Tahoma National Cemetery near Seattle, Washington.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

William 'Bill' Braswell

MSgt William (Bill) Braswell, USAF Retired, 87, passed away July 7, 2015 at his home in Surf City, NC.

Bill was born March 19, 1928 in Roanoke Rapids to the late Needham and Annie Braswell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Aaron Braswell and Lewis Braswell; his sisters: MayBelle Gurley, Estelle Oakley, Bertha Ramsey and Martha (Lady) Baker.

Bill is survived by his wife: Emily S. Braswell of Surf City, NC; his son: Michael Braswell (Agnes) of Plano, TX; his granddaughter: Nicole Harper (Jessie) of Beaverton, MI; his sister: Rachel Barton (Bob) of Hastings, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill served 261/2 years in the US Military, 71/2 years in the US Navy and 19 years in the US Air Force, during which he served in combat in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the military he work 14 years at Square D Electric Corp in Knightdale, NC where he also retired. Since 1986 he has made his home in Surf City by the ocean which he loved, with his loving wife of 61 years.

A Memorial graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Old Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Sue Owens officiating.

Bertha Viverette Shell of Roanoke Rapids, NC, born on June 15, 1916, in Halifax County, NC, passed away on July 29, 2015, at the age of ninety-nine.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Eugene Craig Shell, her parents, Maggie and Joseph Viverette, and numerous siblings.

Bertha was fondly known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Ganganbubba.

She and her husband, Eugene owned and managed The Quality Shop in Roanoke Rapids for most of their married lives.

Bertha loved fashion and travelling with her husband, family and friends.

She was an avid bridge player and golfer. She loved flowers and gardening and could do magic with a sewing machine and a jar of decoupage.

She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church.

She dearly loved and was very much loved by her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Shell Allen, and her husband, Garland, of Littleton, NC, Jeannie Shell Collier and her husband, Don, of Seymour, Tennessee; one sister, Marie Viverette Wilkof of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hogan, Maggie Hogan, Julie Cooper and her husband, William, Christopher King, Jennifer Upchurch and her husband, David; and her great grandchildren, Bella and Emma Cooper and Grayson and Lily Upchurch; and sister-in-law, Merle Shell of Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM with the funeral services following in the chapel at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Randy Martin.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

Mary Hancock Powell

Mary Hanock Powell, age 93, of High Point, NC and formerly of Ahoskie, NC passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Westchester Manor Nursing Home in High Point, NC.

Mary was born January 6, 1922, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Robert Moore Hancock and Origanna Wills Hancock.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Rev. Henry Powell.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children Pat Powell and husband Russell, of Tampa, FL, Bob Powell and wife Teresa of Colfax, NC, Jane Sadler and husband John of Oxford, NC, Nancy Tellekamp and husband Michael of High Point, NC, and Mary Ruffing and husband Chuck of El Dorado, AR; Her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; Her sister Allene Worley of South Carolina and her daughters Kathy and Deborah, Cousin Earl and wife Diane Hancock of Winston-Salem, NC. 

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Powell will be held at Conrad Memorial Baptist Church in High Point, NC, Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM, the family will receive friends after the service at the church.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, NC with Rev. Brian Busch officiating.

Zachary Hunter

Zachary Hunter "Zach" Rodwell, age 17, of Littleton, NC, received his angel wings on July 10, 2015 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Zach was born July 21, 1997 to Dallas H. Rodwell and Kimberly K. Rodwell. He attended Warren County High school and was a rising senior.

Zach accepted Christ at the age of 12, and was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church. Zach was a very talented singer and had a great love for country music. His favorite color was orange. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, riding four wheelers, helping his friends work on cars, farming with his Uncle Herbie, helping customers with auto parts at the parts store with Uncle Bryan, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, riding down dirt roads and "kicking up mud".

He performed at Lakeland Cultural Arts Theater and auditioned for the American Idol. Zach was such a caring young man who never met a stranger. He was always willing to help someone. If you met Zach one time, you would never forget him. His favorite saying was "I got this!"

A Celebration of Zach's life will be held on August 8, 2015 at 2:00pm at Enterprise Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Celebration at Enterprise Baptist Church. Following the Celebration, the burial will take place at Gardner's Baptist Church Cemetery in the Churchill Community.

Zach was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William B. Rodwell, Sr. of Littleton, NC; his paternal uncle, Timothy W. Rodwell of Greenville, NC; his maternal great grandmother, Alice Haddock; and maternal great aunt, Dorothy Barrow of Vanceboro, NC.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Benjamin C. Rodwell of the home; his girlfriend, Kristen Turnbull of Norlina, NC; his dog, Bud; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. King of Littleton, NC; his paternal Aunt, Rebecca Chambliss of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Uncle Bryan Rodwell (Aunt Pattie), Aunt Mamie Rodwell (James), Uncle Stanly Rodwell (Aunt Tammy) all of Littleton, NC, Uncle Henry Rodwell (Aunt Lynette) of Macon, NC, Uncle Aubrey Rodwell (Aunt Elisa) and Uncle Fleming (Aunt Linda) of Warrenton, NC, Aunt Edith Mathias (Uncle Jeff) of Suffolk, VA, Aunt Roberta Isles of Glenn Allen, VA., and his maternal Aunt Sue Ellen Cottle (Uncle Herbie) of Rose Hill, NC, Aunt Dana Keane (Uncle Ronan) of Round Hill, VA. and numerous cousins and friends.

Janie Hasty Small, age 90, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Geneva and Willie Joe Hasty, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Levie Chapman Small and her brother, Willie Joe Hasty, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Faye S. Lail of Roanoke Rapids; her sister in law, Sue Hasty of Roanoke Rapids; her nephew, Dennis Hasty and his wife, Barbara of Conway; her niece, Dianne Davis and her husband, Francis of Columbia, SC; and her great nephew, Josh Hasty and his wife, Brandi of Greenville.

Janie was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School, class of 1943.

She was also a lifelong member of Rosemary Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Bob Redmond.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.

Sarah Mae Burgess Patton age 87, passed away on August 3, 2015 at Autumn Care of Nash in Nashville, NC.

Sarah was born October 16, 1927 in Johnston County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Burgess and Edna Lois Smith Burgess. She was also preceded in death by her husband Floyd Fleming Patton and her brother R.T. Burgess and his wife Julia. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son Reverend Ron Patton and his wife Judy of Creedmoor, NC; Her daughter Denise Patton Spence and her husband Tony of Rocky Mount, NC; Her two grandsons Adam Patton and his wife Jenifer of Pelzer, SC and Jacob Babb of Knightdale, NC; Her four great grandchildren Savanah, Cosette, Joseph and Penelopy Patton; Her sister-in-law Macy Pierce of Hampton, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Halifax United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Formo officiating.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, NC.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time.
