William “Bill” Douglas Hamby, 63, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016. He was the son of the late John Frank and Anne Thompson Hamby.
Bill loved his canine companions London and Milan. He also loved the out-doors, hunting and fishing.
William is survived by his wife, Dianne Smith Hamby, his daughter, Melissa “Missy” Moseley and her husband Jason of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his granddaughter Adrienne Moseley; his sister, Sarah Dickens of Bumpass, VA; his niece, Elizabeth Henry and her husband, Ross of Chesapeake Beach, MD; his nephew, John Patton of Bumpass, VA; and also his uncle, Wes Hamby and his wife Susan of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 immediately following the memorial service.
